Jeering crowd

Everybody laughed when I told them
I wanted to follow you, I wanted to follow you

Everybody grinned they teased me bad
God, Jesus, Bible, I must be effing mad
Everybody laughed till they were blue
They didn’t believe your words were true
Would cost me everything
Right now, this life’s not worth anything

Jesus and Pilate

Resurrection power – an empty tomb. Oh yes
Bereavement loss – an empty bed. Oh no.
Miraculous healings –yes please.
Creeping Alzheimer’s – no thanks.
Connecting with friends – my likes up
Betrayed with a kiss – more than your account will be closed.
Reunions by the Garden Tomb – how picturesque
Gang stabbing in Peckham – less picturesque
Easter Sunday’s gone, but what about Good Friday?

Jesus & Chief Priest

Palm Sunday: Big City Crowd Look For The New

Hip hip hooray.
Scream, yell, cheer this country preacher
Put out all palms, we like the new.
To shake up the Old Order
Jesus needs to be helped.

To think or not to think? That is the question.
Whether ‘tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of cancerous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against these troubles,
And by suppressing end them: to repress, to ignore
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end
The Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Flesh is heir to? ‘Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To displace, to sleep.

All our fears- how do they appear? The mighty engine pulses, ready to go
It’s hostile out there,
But sitting high up, peering out
The mighty German all-terrain machine is unstoppable.
