Lamentations: why, oh why?

160715-warren-battle-fallujah2-embed_yne6faLamentations – why or why?  Cities utterly destroyed, adult men all dead, fled or prisoners.  Women, children and the elderly totter though piles of rubble.  A modern tragedy.  An ancient tale.  The Bible looks at deep loss grief not just in Job, but also here – in Lamentations.

While Job had done no wrong, Israel had sown the wind, but now was shattered under the whirlwind.  In our studies we are blown down dark vales of sorrows  We seek to understand.  Why has this happened?  What have we done?
